Mikulino Interglacial
Mikulino Interglacial
(named after the village of Mikulino in Rudnia Raion, Smolensk Oblast; the name was proposed by the Soviet geologist A. I. Moskvitin in 1947), a warmer phase of the climate in the Upper Pleistocene. It separates the Moscow glacial from the Valdai (Kalinin) glacial. It corresponds to the Eemian interglacial of central Europe and is usually compared with the Riss-Würm interglacial of the Alps.
