Molodoi Kommunist

 

(Young Communist; called lunyi kommunist from 1918 to 1938 and Molodoi bol’shevik from 1939 to 1953), a monthly sociopolitical and theoretical journal of the Central Committee of the All-Union Lenin Communist Youth League (Komsomol). Published since December 1918, the journal is devoted to problems of Marxist-Leninist theory and communist construction and publishes material for Komsomol political education. Important aspects of the life of the younger generation and questions concerning the labor, education, and upbringing of young people are discussed in the pages of Molodoi Kommunist. The journal treats questions pertaining to the history of the Komsomol and Komsomol construction and examines the experience of Komsomol organizations. It provides information about the activity of foreign youth associations, the international youth movement, and the problems of young people in capitalist countries. The journal struggles against bourgeois ideology. Articles dealing with literature, art, and sports are also published. Circulation, about 900,000 (1973).
