Leninváros
Leninváros
(former Tiszaszederkèny), a city in Hungary, in the megye (county) of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén; located on the Tisza River. Population, 11,000 (1970).
Leninváros has grown in the years of people’s power in connection with the construction of a nitrogen-fertilizer combine (producing fertilizers, dyes, and polymers) and a steam power plant. An oil refinery and an ethylene plant, as well as a steam power plant, were put into operation in the early 1970’s. Oil is sent from the USSR by the Druzhba-2 Pipeline; a pipeline for the transportation of ethylene from Leninváros to a combine in the city of Kalush, Ukrainian SSR, has been completed.
