Lem”Iu
also Lem’iu, Lem’ia, or Lema, a river in the Komi ASSR; a left tributary of the Pechora River; it flows into the Lemdikost—the left channel of the Pechora River. Length, 197 km; basin area, 4,310 sq km. The Lem”iu flows through a swampy plain. Fed by mixed sources, predominantly snow, the river is in high water from late April through June; rain may cause flash floods in summer. The Lem”iu is used for floating logs.
