A term of art referring to a home in the USA for which there is adequate health insurance coverage of family members for continuous preventive and primary care.
Public health
A home in which hazards for a particular condition (e.g., asthma) are minimised by reducing risks associated with exacerbation of that condition—e.g., no smoking in the house, reduction of allergens, etc.

medical home

A form of health care delivery in which patients receive services from a team composed of a supervising personal primary care provider and a cooperative group of midlevel providers, registered nurses, nursing assistants, allied health professionals, and patient educators. The model relies on evidence-based interventions to coordinate inpatient and outpatient care, facilitate patient access to staff, and disseminate medical information either by face-to-face contact or by asynchronous communications, e.g., electronically.
