Kivertsy

a city (since 1951) and administrative center of Kivertsy Raion, Volyn’ Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Railroad junction; population, 14,000 (1970). It is the site of a wood-products combine, a metalworking plant, the Lesmash machine-repair plant, and a plant for the production of reinforced-concrete structures. Kivertsy has timber industry and railroad transport enterprises. There is a medical school in the city.
