MIIS(MEDITECH Interpretive Information System) A programming language that evolved from the MUMPS language (later M), developed by co-founders of MEDITECH, a major provider of healthcare IT software. While MUMPS/M became an ANSI standard, MEDITECH retained control of MIIS. MUMPS and MIIS are similar, but they are not entirely compatible. See MEDITECH and M.MIIS
