Mokshan

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Mokshan Raion, Penza Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the Moksha River, a tributary of the Oka, on the Kuibyshev-Moscow highway, the settlement is 22 km north of the Simanshchina station on the Penza-Riazhsk railroad line and 40 km northwest of Penza. A creamery, a hemp plant, and a sovkhoz technicum are in Mokshan.
