Nadvoitsy
an urban-type settlement in Segezha Raion, Karelian ASSR; a landing on the Baltic-White Sea Canal, on the northern shore of the Vygozero Reservoir. A station on the Petrozavodsk-Belomorsk railroad line. Population, 11,000 (1970). After the Great Patriotic War of 1941–45, an aluminum plant was built in Nadvoitsy to process alumina mined in Leningrad Oblast.
