LooyenWork Bodywork A proprietary synthesis of painless deep tissue body therapy, movement re-education and environmental evaluation, developed in 1973 by Dutch-Australian therapist Ted Looyen, which borrows from Aston patterning, Feldenkreis method, postural Integration, Rolfing and other techniques. LooyenWork utilises deep penetrating massage that releases connective tissue adhesions, lengthens contracted muscles and separates tendons. Central the therapy to is the identification of the “core issue”, a constellation of traumatic experiences unique to the individual; given the individual nature of each person’s problems, there is no standard LooyenWork treatment. |
