The desert, which includes Death Valley, has an area of about 30, 000 sq km. The topography alternates between ranges (up to 3, 366 m high) and basins with continental deposits. The climate is sharply continental, with hot summers. The annual precipitation is 45–150 mm. Surface drainage is irregular, and there are a number of small salt lakes. The vegetation consists of succulents (primarily yucca and cacti) and brush. The land is virtually unused. The Joshua Tree National Monument, a preserve of desert vegetation and fauna, is in the southern part of the desert. MojaveThe latest version of the macOS operating system. Introduced in 2018, Mojave Version 10.14 features new desktop backgrounds. Dark Mode provides a white on gray mode, and Dynamic Desktop actually changes the appearance from dawn to dusk. Stacks organizes the desktop by automatically organizing files into groups. Finder offers more insight into files. For example, the Preview pane shows complete meta-data and lets users scroll through files more easily. Editing can also be performed without opening an application.
There are new screenshot recording options, and iPhone photos can automatically appear on the Mac screen. Mojave supports up to 32 people on FaceTime, and the News, Stocks, Home and Voice Memos apps from iOS migrated to the desktop. The Mac App Store was redesigned in conjunction with Mojave, and privacy and security were enhanced. See Mac OS X and macOS.AcronymsSeeMOJMojaveenUK
