Manam Tso, a lake on the Plateau of Tibet, in southwestern China. Area, about 520 sq km; maximum depth, 82 m. It lies at an elevation of 4,557 m in an intermontane valley that is bordered on the south by the Greater Himalayas and on the north by the Kailas Range. In years with heavy precipitation the lake is drained by a short (10 km) stream into Lake Langak (in the Satlaj River basin). There are hot springs and sites of religious pilgrimages near Manasarowar.
