(Russian). (1) A group (set) of objects that have some common unifying feature and purpose—for example, a set of tools or a set of paints.
(2) Plated metal decorations on harnesses, belts, and so on.
(3) Large-scale recruitment for a job (hiring) or for admission to an educational institution.
(4) In prereform Russia, the conscription for military service of persons from estates subject to the poll tax.
