On-Board Radio Space Communications System

On-Board Radio Space Communications System

a system of radio-engineering apparatus for an artificial earth satellite, spacecraft, or automatic interplanetary station for the exchange of information (telemetry, television, telegraph, telephone, control commands, and so on) with earth or between cosmic objects. During communication with the earth, information is transmitted in a wave band that is weakly absorbed by the atmosphere. The on-board radio space communications system includes antenna-feeder and reception-transmission apparatus, apparatus for forming the required signal structure, apparatus for the isolation and separation of the signals received, and electric-power supply sources. The system may also include apparatus for the conversion of signals feeding into the transmission from different information sources.
