Mamadysh

a city, the administrative center of Mamadysh Raion, Tatar ASSR. A landing on the right bank of the Viatka River (a tributary of the Kama). Located 80 km southeast of the Kukmor railroad station on the Kazan-Agryz line and 167 km east of Kazan. Branches of a cotton factory and of the Spartak footwear enterprise are there, as is a distillery. Mamadysh has had city status since 1781.
