Kilmez

Kil’mez’

 

an urban-type settlement, center of Kil’mez’ Raion, Kirov Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the Kil’mez’ River, a tributary of the Viatka River, 27 km west of the Siurek railroad station on the Izhevsk-Kil’mez’ branch line. Industry includes sawmilling and the production of butter and bricks.


Kil’mez’

 

an urban-type settlement in Siumsi Raion, Udmurt ASSR. Situated on the Kil’mez’ River, a tributary of the Viatka River. Terminal station on the Izhevsk-Kil’mez’ branch line, 150 km west of Izhevsk. There are woodworking enterprises in the settlement.


Kil’mez’

 

a river in the Udmurt ASSR and in Kirov Oblast, RSFSR, a left-bank tributary of the Viatka. It measures 270 km long and drains an area of 17,200 sq km. Originating in the spurs of the Upper Kama Upland, it is fed primarily by snow. The mean annual flow rate at the village of Vichmar’ is 82 cu m/sec. The river freezes in early November and the ice breaks up in the second half of April. Its chief tributaries are the Lumpun and Loban’ rivers on the right and the Vala on the left. The Kil’mez’ is used for floating timber.
