Originating in the spurs of the Upper Kama Upland, it is fed primarily by snow. The mean annual flow rate at the village of Vichmar’ is 82 cu m/sec. The river freezes in early November and the ice breaks up in the second half of April. Its chief tributaries are the Lumpun and Loban’ rivers on the right and the Vala on the left. The Kil’mez’ is used for floating timber.
