Ochchugui-Botuobuia

 

(Malaia Botuobuia), a river in the Yakut ASSR, a right tributary of the Viliui River in the Lena River basin. The Ochchugui-Botuobuia is 342 km long and drains an area of 11,100 sq km. It rises on the Viliui-Lena watershed and flows through a wide valley. It is fed by snow and rain. The mean flow rate is approximately 40 cu m per sec. The river begins to freeze in October and is frozen over from December through April. The ice breaks up in May. The Ochchugui-Botuobuia is used as an industrial water supply. There are diamond deposits in the river’s basin. The settlement of Almaznyi is situated on the river at the influx of the Ireliakh River.
