Lebrun, Rico

Lebrun, (Federico) Rico

(1900–64) painter; born in Naples, Italy. He emigrated to Illinois (1924) as a stained glass designer, and by 1938 settled in California and worked for the Walt Disney Studios as an animator (1939). In his later work he became known for his surrealistic, often morbid subject matter, as seen in his mural, Genesis (1960), located at Pomona College, Claremont, Calif.
