Kii
Kii
a peninsula in the southern part of the island of Honshu in Japan, between Ise and Osaka bays and Kii Strait. It extends into the ocean for 140 km and has a maximum width of 170 km. Almost the entire peninsula has very rugged mountains (elevation, up to 1,915 m). Subtropical evergreen forests grow in the lower parts of the mountains, and broad-leaved forests cover the upper parts. The population is concentrated mainly on the coast. The large city and port of Wakayama is located on the shore of Kii Strait.
Kii
a strait between the island of Shikoku and Kii Peninsula (the southern tip of the island of Honshu). Kii Strait connects the Inland Sea of Japan (Seto-Naikai) with the Pacific Ocean. The strait is 34–55 km wide and has a maximum depth of 74 m. There are strong ebb-and-flow currents (up to 17 km/hour).
