Assaulted by bus driver at ATM, any recourse?

Ask a Lawyer

Question

Country: United States of America
State: OhioI was pulling up to a drive-up ATM machine. I noticed a public transportation bus driver come running across the street. He wanted to use the machine as well. I pulled up before him and he immediately showed annoyance. He kept telling me to hurry up, hurry up. Then he started to threaten that he was going to slap me and do damage to my car. As I started to put my card into the machine, he came around and slapped my hand away, took out my card and threw it at me. Then proceeded to put his card in. I put my hand over the keypad so he couldn't do anything. He again threatened to slap me and do damage to my vehicle. I said I was calling the police and he took off running back to his bus. I immediately contacted the Authorities and also made a report with that city's police department. Although there was no "damage", is there any recourse for me?

Answer

A criminal charge can be filed against him for assault etc.--
