Location:In Jasper County, in southern Illinois, via the Effingham exit off I-57 and I-70.
Facilities:Multi-use trails (22 miles), mountain bike trail (5 miles), boat ramp, concession.
Activities:Boating (25 HP limit), fishing (size and catch limits), hiking, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, horseback riding.
Special Features:Park operates as a day-use conservation area under lease from CentralIllinois Public Service Company, with recreational activitieslimited by agreement. JasperCounty has the largest of three prairie chicken flocks still existingin Illinois, and CIPSC has designated a portion of the property asan additional prairie chicken sanctuary.
