Malkhanskii

a mountain range in the southern part of Transbaikalia (Buriat ASSR and Chita Oblast, RSFSR). It is about 250 km long, and the average heights are 1,200-1,300 m (the highest point is 1,735 m). The range is composed chiefly of granodiorite, granite, and shale. It is characterized by flat peaks. The slopes are covered with taiga (pine on the southern slope and larch on the northern slope; cedar growth is found above 1400 m).
