单词 | measured day work |
释义 | measured day workmeasured day worka system of PAY in which WAGES are output-based but do not fluctuate in response to short-term fluctuations in output. Typically, possible daily output will be established through WORK MEASUREMENT. Individuals' pay will then be based on the understanding that they will usually achieve this level of output. Pay relativities are established by JOB EVALUATION. The notable feature of measured day work is that daily output and WAGE RATES are usually set at higher levels than industry norms, and thus represent an attempt to achieve high output without the attendant INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS problems often associated with PIECEWORK. A variant is ‘graduated measured day work'where an individual can choose from a range of output/wage options. |
