Khummi

Khummi

 

(also Khomi), a lake in Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR. Lake Khummi has an area of 117 sq km and an average depth of 1.5 m; the maximum depth is 3.9 m. The lake lies in the floodplain of the lower Amur River and is connected to the river by a number of channels, the most important of which—the Khummi Channel—is 8.5 km long. The lake’s water level rises and falls in accordance with fluctuations in the level of the Amur.
