Lomonosov Reflector
Lomonosov Reflector
a single-mirror telescope proposed by M. V. Lomonosov in 1762. In the Lomonosov reflector the optical axis of the primary concave parabolic mirror is inclined toward an incoming pencil of rays such that the rays are collected at the focus outside the pencil. This makes it possible to eliminate fully the screening of a pencil incident on the mirror by a secondary mirror. The Lomonosov reflector is not free of aberrations.
