Lokchim

 

(also Lokshma, Longima, or Lochkim), a river in southern Komi ASSR, a left tributary of the Vychegda. Length, 272 km (322 km from the source of the Bad’iu River); basin area, 6,600 sq km. It is fed by mixed sources, predominantly snow. Average water discharge 53 km from the mouth is 51.6 cu m per sec. The river freezes in late October or early November and thaws in April. It is used for floating logs and is navigable to the landing at Lopydino (153 km).
