Khan-Khulin-Ula

a mountain range in the northwestern part of the People’s Republic of Mongolia. The range separates the basins of the lakes Ubsu-Nur and Khirgis-Nur. It is approximately 250 km long and reaches a maximum elevation of 2,928 m at Mount Khan-Khukhiin-Orgil. Steep slopes and peaks that have undergone smoothing predominate; the crest regions bear evidence of ancient glaciation. Steppes, meadows, and larch and cedar forests are found on the northern slopes; semidesert vegetation grows on the southern slopes.
