Khadyzhensk

 

a city (since 1949) in Apsheronsk Raion, Krasnodar Krai, RSFSR, on the Pshish River, 7 km from the Khadyzhensk railroad station (on the Tuapse-Armavir line). Highway junction. Population, 18,000 (1974). Khadyzhensk has a machine-building plant, a timber combine, a logging and timber distribution enterprise, and a fruit- and berry-growing sovkhoz. It also has a balneological health resort, where sodium-chloride water containing iodide and bromide is used for curing disorders of the motor and support organs, gynecological ailments, and disorders of the peripheral nervous system. There is a sanatorium and a bathhouse. Khadyzhensk has a tourist center.
