(Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes) A classification of laboratory tests and clinical results in the medical field. Developed in 1994 by the Regenstrief Institute, Inc. (www.loinc.org), which is affiliated with Indiana University, LOINC has been adopted as an alternate reporting code by large commercial testing laboratories and HMOs and government organizations.RELMA
