Maladetta
Maladetta
(Maladeta), a mountain massif in the central Pyrenees, in Spain. The elevation reaches 3,404 m at Pico de Aneto (the highest point in the Pyrenees). Maladetta is composed of granite and has alpine relief. The sources of the Garonne River and left tributaries of the Ebro River are on the massif. Maladetta is covered with coniferous forests; at elevations over 1,600-1,800 m, there are subalpine and alpine meadows and shrubs. Along the crest there is permanent snow and small hanging glaciers.
