Isothermy

relative constancy of body temperature, ensured by the physiological mechanisms of thermoregulation. Isothermy is characteristic of man and warm-blooded, or homoiothermic, animals; in cold-blooded, or poikilothermic, animals, the body temperature changes according to the temperature of the external environment.
