Ivatsevichi

a city (since 1966), the administrative center of Ivatsevichi Raion, Brest Oblast, Byelorussian SSR. The city is situated on the Moscow-Brest highway and is a station on the Brest-Minsk railroad line. There is a dairy, a timber mill, and a distillery in the city. A linen factory, a factory producing reinforced-concrete products, a baked-food combine, and a chemical timber establishment are under construction (1972). Ivatsevichi is the site of the home-museum commemorating the young partisan Kolia Goishik.
