A neoplasm in children caused by HPV types 6 and 11, which may also occur in adults in the upper respiratory tract–known as recurrent respiratory papillomatosis; JLP is analagous to condyloma acuminatum of the genital tract; it rarely undergoes malignant degeneration, although it may be accompanied by severe airway compromise, its major complication; JLP is so recalcitrant, hundreds of surgical resections may be required Management Although IFN-alpha significantly ↓ growth rate of JLP in early therapy, the effect is not sustained
