Ivanovo Mélange Combine
(full name, K.I. Frolov Ivanovo Mélange Combine), a major textile enterprise of the USSR’s light industry, located in Ivanovo. The construction of the combine began in May 1928, and it was put in operation on Nov. 7, 1929. The combine has spinning, weaving, and finishing works; twisting, cotton-dyeing, and yarn-dyeing shops; the chief mechanic’s department; and a foundry and machine plant. It produces various fleece, suit, and upholstery fabrics with patterns created by various interlacings of colored cotton yarns and a rayon-Dacron mélange of fabrics. The combine is equipped with highly productive machinery, and since 1958 all production equipment has been modernized or replaced by new equipment. In 1930 the combine was named after K.I. Frolov, one of the organizers of the textile industry, and in 1966 it was awarded the Order of Lenin.
