Isochronism of Oscillations
Isochronism of Oscillations
the independence of the period of natural oscillations of any oscillating system of the amplitude of the oscillations. Isochronism of oscillations is a characteristic property of linear systems, but for sufficiently small amplitudes it is also observed in nonlinear systems (for example, the oscillations of a pendulum may in practice be considered isochronic if the amplitude of its angular deflections is sufficiently small).
