Location:Day use area on Kalifornsky Beach Road; boat launch at 4.2 Kenai Spur Highway.
Facilities:Restrooms, boat launch.
Activities:Camping (in developed campsites at adjacent parks along the river), fishing, boating, wildlife observation.
Special Features:Area consists of more than 105 linear miles of rivers and lakes, including Kenai Lake, Skilak Lake, and the Kenai River from river mile 82 downstream to four miles above the river's mouth on Cook Inlet. The Kenai River is one of the most popular freshwater fisheries inAlaska, featuring major runs of four Pacific salmon species (king, red,silver, and pink) as well as trophy-sized rainbow trout and DollyVarden. The area also supports large concentrations of bald eagles andmany species of migratory waterfowl.
