kerion

A localized boggy swelling on the scalp with oozing of pus and serum from the hair follicles. Kerion is a reaction to fungus infection of the scalp (TINEA CAPITIS) and is self-curing. It is commonest in agricultural workers and is often contracted from farm animals.
