Judge-Rapporteur

a judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union who at the start of a case is assigned the task of marshalling the arguments of parties. If required a report for a hearing is prepared summarizing the facts alleged and the arguments of the parties and the interveners, if any. The report is made public in the language of the case at the hearing. He or she also prepares a draft judgment around which deliberation takes place prior to the issue of the final judgment.
