Location:In northeast Illinois, in Bartlett, on Stearns Road, west of Powis Road.
Facilities:Picnic area, shelter, multi-purpose trails (5 miles), restrooms, drinking water, visitor/education center (é).
Activities:Environmental education programs, hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, cross-country skiing.
Special Features:Purpose of the park is to blend the forest, marshland, andgrasslands of Pratt's Wayne Woods Forest Preserve, which lies south ofJames "Pate" Philips State Park, with the park's conservation lands inorder to establish native vegetation that will create newopportunities for wildlife corridors and greenway connections toneighboring counties. The park's visitor center serves as anenvironmental education facility, with exhibits and programs thatillustrate the park's restoration story.
