Iunyi Tekhnik

 

(Young Technician), an illustrated monthly scientific and technical magazine published by the Central Committee of the All-Union Lenin Communist Youth League and the Central Council of the V. I. Lenin All-Union Pioneer Organization. Founded in 1956 in Moscow, the magazine is intended for Pioneers and schoolchildren.

Iunyi tekhnik popularizes the achievements of domestic and foreign science, technology, and industry. It deals with problems of scientific and technical creativity and of the vocational guidance of schoolchildren. The magazine also carries artistic scientific works. Circulation, 1,680,000(1980).

Two supplements to the magazine have been published. Bibliotechka dlia umelykh ruk (A Small Library for Skillful Hands) appeared from 1957 to 1971. It consisted of 24 issues a year. Beginning in 1972, “Iu Tdlia umelykh ruk (“Young Technician” for Skillful Hands) has been printed. It has 12 issues a year.
