Vecherova, Iuliia Mikhailovna
Born May 4, 1932, in the village of Berezhki, Ivanovo Oblast. A weaver of the Solidarnost’ Factory, in Ivanov Oblast, and a Hero of Socialist Labor (1960). A member of the CPSU since 1961.
Vecherova was the initiator of socialistic competitions in the textile industry for the achievement ahead of schedule of the equipment productivity level planned for the end of the seven-year plan of 1959 to 1965. In 1959, Vecherova achieved this level and in 1960 exceeded it. In the enterprises of the Ivanovo economic raion alone, by May 1961 Vecherova’s example had been followed by 78,000 workers of the mass occupations; of these 30,000 achieved the productivity level planned for 1965. Vecherova was a deputy at the sixth convocation of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. She has been awarded the Order of Lenin and medals.
