Justinus, Marcus Junianus

(also Justin). Roman historian of the second or third century.

Justinus was the author of an epitome of an unpreserved historical work by Pompeius Trogus. He made several fundamental changes in Trogus’ work, focusing attention on the most entertaining and informative passages. Justinus’ work is an important source on the military and diplomatic history of the Hellenistic age and the Black Sea region.
