Dates of birth and death unknown. Author of a memoir on late 17th-century Russia.
As secretary to Guarient, the Austrian ambassador to Russia, Korb lived in Moscow from April 29 to July 23, 1699. Setting down his impressions in the Diary of a Journey to Muscovy, Korb described the execution of the strel’tsy (semiprofessional musketeers). V I. Surikov, A. N. Tolstoy, and others made use of Korb’s Diary in their works. The first Russian edition appeared in 1867 and the second in 1906.
