Kazym

 

a river in Tiumen’ Oblast, RSFSR, a right tributaryof the Ob’. Length, 659 km; basin area, 35, 600 sq km. TheKazym flows through the northern part of the West SiberianPlain. The river valley is marsh-ridden, and the channel is wind-ing. The Kazym River is fed mainly by snow. It freezes in earlyNovember and thaws in the second half of May. The largetributaries on the left are the Amnia and Lykhn. The river isnavigable for 250 km.
