Kazantsev, Nikolai Dimitrievich

Born Feb. 2 (15), 1907, in the village of Obabkova, now Belozerskoe Raion, Kurgan Oblast; died Nov. 12, 1971, in Moscow. Soviet jurist; doctor of juridical sciences (1947); professor (1948). Member of the CPSU from 1944.

Kazantsev was a specialist in kolkhoz and land law. He did scholarly work and taught from 1930, and he was chairman of the subdepartment of land and kolkhoz law in the law department of Moscow State University from 1954 to 1971. In the 1960’s he helped to prepare the basic acts of land legislation.
