Jahrom

a city in Iran, in the ostan (province) of Fars. Population, 38,200 (1966). Jahrom is connected by roads to Shiraz and the Persian Gulf coast. It is an agricultural trade center; cattle are raised, and grain and date palms are grown. There is cottage industry and handicrafts production.
