Karateginskii Range

the southern spur of the Gissar Range in the Tadzhik SSR.

The Karateginskii Range runs along the left bank of the Kafir-nigan (Sorbo) River for about 80 km, rising to an altitude of 3, 950 m. The range is composed chiefly of granites. The slopes are covered with couch-grass steppe, scrub, and meadow.
