JavaStation

JavaStation

An earlier family of network computers from Sun that complied with the NC Reference Profile. Introduced with the same 100 MHz MicroSPARC CPU used in Sun's SPARC 4 and 5 workstations, JavaStations were expected to migrate to the Java chip. JavaStations could also run Windows applications on an NT server using software from Insignia Solutions or Citrix that turned NT into a timeshared central computer. See Java.
