jet-membrane method

jet-membrane method

[¦jet ′mem‚brān ‚meth·əd] (nucleonics) A method of uranium isotope separation in which a rarefied vapor jet interacts with a background gas of uranium hexafluoride, causing preferential diffusion of uranium-235 into the jet; the enriched gas is extracted from the interaction region between the jet and the uranium hexafluoride by using small channels.
