Jatrorrhiza

 

(also Jateorhiza), a genus of plants of the family Menispermaceae. The plants are perennial herbaceous vines with a tuberous rootstock and thick roots reaching 8 cm in diameter. The leaves are palmately lobed. The small, green, unisexual flowers are in axillary panicles. There are two species, found in East Africa.
